Hello Families!
NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!
Reminders:
Computers must be charged every night. If you student has a computer with no charge 2 days in a row it will be a blue sheet. It is IMPERATIVE that students have a charged computer. It is a tool to learn and engage students in learning that we use daily.
Quick reminder that if your student get three blue sheets before our May 2nd Field trip then they will not be permitted to go.
I had several parents reach out to me about the preplanned absences already, thank you! If your child will be missing any school days please let me know ASAP as we are entering the final stretch of 1st grade.
ABC Countdown is starting this coming Tuesday. I will be sending flyers out again in purple folders today. Please refer to this flyer or the digital copies I have been sending. Our class will also discuss the upcoming days events in class as well.

Academics:
Phonics: Students will review suffixes. We have learned -ed, -s, -es, -ing, and -er. Students need to work on identifying the root word and the suffix. For example, helper has the root word help and the suffix -er.
Comprehension: We are going to focus on find the main idea of non fiction stories. Students often love pointing out details but we want them to be able to know the general idea of a passage.
Writing: We will be review common and proper nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, and compound sentences before we take our unit test.
Math: Students are continuing to work on adding and subtracting within 25 and will soon be working on doing that within 100.
Social Studies: We got a little bit behind in social studies so next week we are going to talk about the Statue of Liberty and some notable presidents!
