Oct. 25th

This week was busy and jam packed with learning!

Reading and Comprehension: We will be looking at solution in stories this coming week. We will look at a variety of texts with a variety of problems and solution.

  • I will be sending home Reading homework today and it will be due next Friday.
  • Book It forms. IF you have been doing your Book It forms they will be due on the 31st! Remember this was optional.
Phonics: We will be learning digraph (two letters that make one sound) CH and WH. We will also be reviewing our vowels sounds.

Math: We have been looking at how to efficiently count by 5s. We will be looking at using our addition strategies next week. We want our students to have a variety of strategies to use. I would like to see students be able to solve simple addition problems quicker.
  • I am sending home Math work(pages 31 and 32) this will be due on Monday.
  • Math homework will be coming home on Tuesday (33-37) and will be due on Wednesday.
  • Math homework will be coming home next Friday (39-40) and will be due the following Monday.
  • I have noticed some families moving ahead in the workbook. I appreciate you taking the initiative but there are some workbook pages that will not make sense without that day's lesson.
Social studies: Next week we will be looking at leaders and their attributes. We will be looking at George Washington, Abe Lincoln, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Ben Franklin.
