Academics:
Phonics: We will be working on the /or/ sound. This can be spelled a few different ways: or, ore, and oar. These spellings/ sounds can be found in fork, store, and roar. This is a continuation of the bossy R unit.
Comprehension: We will look at a character's motivation. This is the reason why a character does something in the story. This helps them understand the character and why they make their choices.
Writing: Students are still working on narratives with a focus on the problem and solution of their stories. In grammar students are going to work on compound sentences with using the conjunctions of but and and.
Math: Students will develop their addition and subtraction skills while using a number line. Number lines also assist students in counting and identifying numbers.
Social Studies: We are wrapping up our unit with looking at community helps and symbols from our community. For example, an American flag represents our country, while the Colorado flag represents our state.
