Help your child find a book with their favorite character and come up with a costume to wear. It cannot be scary and It HAS to be a book character! Students do not have to participate but they will need to be in uniform if they do not. Some good ideas might be: No! David!, Clifford, Skippy Jon Jones, Dr. Seuss, Madeline, etc… Be creative. Search Google and Pinterest...there are lots of ideas! We can’t wait to see all of our cuties dressed up! Thank you for all of your support!
*Be sure your costume is school appropriate in length and has sleeves. Please refrain from hats, costume masks, and face paint. Nothing gory or obscene. Inappropriate costumes will be sent home.
Academics:
Moral Focus: We will be focusing on Gratitude. Gratitude is noticing when someone is nice to you.
Phonics: We will be working on blends -nk and -ng. These are mostly found at the end of a word. For example, sink, ring, think, and sing.
Read aloud: We will be working on identify the narrator. This helps readers understand who is telling the story and why they are telling it.
Math: We will be exploring adding doubles. This is a good skill to master because it help students add more complicated equations later. If I know 5+5= 10 then that information can assist me when I see a problem of 5+6=__.
Science: We are moving to our sound and light unit. We will be exploring sound first! We will talk about rhythm, tempo, and pitch!
