 Hello Families!

Wow, it was full and packed week! I hope everyone enjoys their break and the Thanksgiving festivities. I will be flying to see my family in Texas. We will spend the week camping at a lake! I will not be able to respond to emails while I am away.

Upcoming dates:

Winter Break: Dec 18-Jan 3rd. Please email me if you plan on leaving for break early!

Reminders:

Students need to bring their computer each day and it needs to be charged.

2 snacks and a water bottle each day.

With cold weather on the horizon please make sure your student has the appropriate attire for outdoor recess. Please LABEL EVERYTHING.

Academics:

Phonics: We will start exploring multisyllable words. We will work with 2 syllable words that have two closed syllables like cac-tus, bed-room, etc.

Comprehension: We will continue to look at non fiction text features and how they help the reader understand more.

Writing: We will be starting opinion writings! This is fun unit. Students will first learn the parts of an opinion paper and then we will begin to start writing!

Math: We are on to the next unit. We will be using our learned strategies on bigger numbers. We will focus on adding and subtracting within 25.

Social Studies: When we get back we will start looking at locations, land features, and cardinal directions.

Also, thank you to those who signed up on the Thanksgiving sign up I sent earlier this week. If you could please send in the food items on Thursday or Friday that would be awesome. Nonfood items can come earlier than that if you have them ready! We will be making fun cornucopias to eat, and fun Thanksgiving mats and hats!
